The Laura Ingalls Wilder Chapter NSDAR is a strong supporter of the VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. We participate in Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies in our local communities, July 4th Independence parades, and Constitution Week activities in our schools. Our members serve at polls on Election Day, and participate in naturalization ceremonies in Sioux Falls and Rapid City. Our "Coupon Clippers" send monthly donations to overseas commissaries to support service families, and we collect canceled stamps for use in veteran rehabilitation programs. One of our annual service projects is to provide tray favors at our local assisted living centers in celebration of Veterans Day. Our chapter also sponsors and participates in the South Dakota Patriot Sisters project, a group of daughters from around the state, who portray the personas of actual women who lived during the Revolutionary War. Dressed in period clothing, they share with community groups and schools how our patriot women were involved in helping create our new nation. Laura Ingalls Wilder Chapter NSDAR continues to look for opportunities to provide patriotic service in our community and hope you will join us.
